It’s Tee Time at Fairways Indoor Golf

At Fairways Indoor Golf, every season is golf season.

And that’s especially valuable in the often snowy Southern Tier of New York State, where Fairways’ upscale indoor golf simulator and event venue is located.

Since 2021, Fairways has found success among dedicated golfers – as well as newcomers looking for a new hobby or a fun activity to do with friends. But their business was starting to outpace their website.

The challenges

Fairways was getting a lot of phone calls, specifically to book tee times. Reducing those phone calls without turning away potential bookings was a top priority. The new website also had to give guests greater convenience, free up their staff, and reflect their upscale venue.

Web design and development goals

  • Boost gift card sales through UX strategies
  • Better promote all services
  • Make it easy to contact customer service
  • Streamline booking process
  • Enhance user experience & engagement

A new way to golf

Fairways isn’t the average golfing green. It’s a premier indoor experience with food, drinks, and atmosphere. But the main draw is still good old fashioned golfing. We wanted to make sure Fairways’ new site was still connected to the legacy of the sport with a touch of vintage style.

A retro look that never goes out of style

The new website’s fresh color scheme and heading font create a slightly retro look that’s still undeniably modern. A combination of dark and light tones contrast nicely while appealing to both younger and older target audiences.

We also replaced their old visuals of outdoor golfing with high-end photography and video of their indoor golf simulator and event venue. Prominent calls to action (CTAs) were used to bring more attention to the booking and gift card pages.

Where style meets functionality

Visitors to Fairways’ site are greeted right away by a video montage of everything the facility has to offer: from the indoor golf simulator to food, drinks, and space to get together with friends.

Anchoring the site navigation to the side of the homepage (instead of the top) gives the rest of the design room to breathe. And visitors always have quick access to subpages, which makes scrolling more likely to turn into clicking.

Teeing up for future success

Fairways’ website was all about turning moving parts into one cohesive product. Each subpage had to feel distinct but true to the new web design. We also made sure that their special events, live music, and golfing leagues could be easily maintained by simply updating their Google calendar.
