Get to Know Blake, Idea Kraft’s New Business Development Manager
We have a new addition to the Idea Kraft team! As New Business Development Manager, Blake Collazo finds companies and organizations that are doing incredible things and connects them with Idea Kraft’s top-notch creative services. Get to know Blake, his 90s-themed guilty pleasure, and what obscure superpower he would choose to have.
You’re Idea Kraft’s New Business Development Manager! What does that mean and what do you do?
I help spread the word about our agency’s capabilities and work on fostering conversations, connections, and relationships. By working closely with current and future clients, I help the Idea Kraft team understand and execute their visions.
Favorite part of your job?
Networking! I’m a people person and love to connect with people on all sorts of levels. Meeting new people is a great way to continue learning about what other humans do, how they found the path they’re on, and so much more. Everyone is different, so it’s always a different story.
What’s one piece of advice you can offer to someone who wants a job like yours?
Don’t allow yourself to be discouraged! Generating business is not easy, and it’s also not about the instant “sale” if you will. Rather, it’s about the long-term partnership you aim to foster as you do business with one another. Planting the seeds now means something is bound to bloom.
What is the most obscure superpower you would want?
I’d like the ability to cure “hangry” as a mood. Is that possible? Asking for a friend…
What’s your go-to pizza topping?
I’m a classic (although some may say “simple”) cheese pizza person. My ideal pizza is authentic from NYC, the kind where you have to dab off the grease with a super thin and flimsy napkin from the rectangle metal dispenser…you know the one.
Guilty pleasure?
Channeling my inner 90s kid with this, but eating Gushers. I did not grow up being able to eat these, so I guess I am making up for lost time?
Favorite social platform?
For images, it has to be Instagram. For short-form content, it’s TikTok. For long-form content, YouTube.
Favorite accounts to follow?
This is really going to be all over the place, but I love to follow Keke Palmer, Drag Race and Dragula queens/kings, Chelsea Handler, Michael James Schneider (aka @blcksmth) and various artists in different industries. (There’s many more, but these are probably the most that I’m frequently engaged with).
