UI/UX Design

Challenge

For 50 years, the UNDC has operated NYC properties that the UN community calls home. But, this time, the UNDC was the one in need of a new home online – so they called on Idea Kraft to design and develop one. Their new website needed to comply with state guidance, be easy to manage, offer highly intuitive navigation, and achieve a modern yet sophisticated look.

Approach

We started by auditing their content, coming up with a strategy to meet their usability requirements, and presenting several visual design concepts for the UNDC’s approval. From there, we used UX principles to design a site navigation tailored to key audiences. Collapsable sections and a logical structure were implemented to help website visitors easily find meeting minutes, RFPs, notices, and other documents.

Photography

In addition to designing and developing the new website, Idea Kraft also took photos of a book celebrating the 75th anniversary of the United Nations and the 50th anniversary of the UNDC. We captured a library of images to showcase this striking publication on the website and added a contact form for visitors to order a copy of the book.

The Result

The UNDC’s new website is clean, professional, and modern in a way that resonates across their different audiences. Logical site navigation and tasteful typography enforce a strong hierarchy of information, making it easy for anyone to understand what the UNDC is and what they do for the UN community.
