We had the pleasure of working with our friends at Freshy Sites to create a new logo for assembly woman Donna Lupardo.
We used a typeface called GOTHAM and it wasn’t accidental. This is a fresh, clean-lined sans-serif designed by Hoefler + Frere-Jones and inspired by an old Port Authority sign in New York City. Campaign typography is crucial in positioning each candidate; the letterforms of a slogan carry as much of a message as the words themselves. It works on a subconscious level, connecting the words we’re reading now with emotions we’ve felt elsewhere at another time.
On the political scene, there’s no doubt that appearance matters and we congratulate, Mrs. Lupardo for taking the initiative to create a bold, new identity and website.
