Memorable Moments & More: Idea Kraft’s 2024 in Review
With every new year comes new projects and plans. But, before we dive into all that 2025 has in store, we wanted to reflect on our highlights of 2024.
From what made in-office moments special to favorite projects and how we build camaraderie between in-office and remote employees, hear directly from Idea Kraft staff about what made 2024 a special year to them.
Shaping Up a Pirate Ship Playground
Volunteering doesn’t get more whimsical than this.
This autumn, the Idea Kraft team stepped out of the office to help the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier get their new pirate-themed playground ready for its grand opening. Several team members spent the afternoon shaping up the grounds, landscaping, and putting some finishing touches on the ship.
Some of our Favorite Projects
“The American Civic Association. We were able to sponsor, design, and develop their new website. I really enjoyed helping them build a foundation for their new brand with a messaging development workshop and handbook. Their new website makes the full spectrum of their services much easier to navigate.”
– Mary, Content Strategist
“It’s hard to choose just one. CTRAN has been and still is a dream client to work with. They trusted us, and the outcomes of our collaboration will be amazing. The American Civic Association has been one of my favorite nonprofit projects.”
– Ewelina Zajac-Holdrege, CEO & Creative Director
“Peerfocus was my favorite because we got to create a new logo and website that fully transformed the brand and brought them not only into the present, but will take them into the future.”
– Blake, New Business Development Manager
“CTRAN because it required functionality problem solving, including building a trip planner in Google Transit, and allowed us to be creative and explore areas we haven’t before. They trust us as designers and developers.”
– Josh, Senior Web Developer & Designer
“It’s hard to pick a favorite. My heart belongs to the nonprofits.”
– Ashley, Office Manager
“Village of Deposit. I don’t typically do a lot of design work, so I was pretty proud to have led the design and development for this one. There was a lot of information and documentation to organize and consolidate, and I think we were able to come up with intuitive solutions to keep things concise while prioritizing ease-of-access for the client. And, as a former civil servant, I have a soft spot for municipal projects.”
– Gerard, Web Developer
“CTRAN! The client has been a dream to work with.”
– Erinn Kovitch, Art Director
THE Pop Culture Moment
“Brat summer” took the world by storm in 2024 – and the Idea Kraft crew was no exception. The critically acclaimed album ‘BRAT’ by Charli xcx, and its now-iconic green branding, inspired more than just a fun dialogue among our staff. It also sparked an appreciation of what can make bold branding and marketing so successful.
Mocha Making In-Office Magic
When asked what made in-office moments special, one name came up over and over again. That name was Mocha.
Mocha is Idea Kraft’s Chief Cuddle Officer, an American Cocker Spaniel belonging to our CEO & Creative Director, Ewelina Zajac-Holdrege. Several Idea Kraft staffers said their favorite in-office moments were simply whenever Mocha made an appearance.
Of course, we’ve always known Mocha (the dog) is special. So it seemed like fate when PANTONE named the shade “Mocha Mousse” Color of the Year for 2025.
Team Bonding as a Remote-Friendly Agency
How do you make sure camaraderie between in-office and remote employees is going strong?
This year, the answer came in a delightfully surprising form: Josh’s knitting projects. Josh, our Senior Web Developer & Designer, knitted several adorable items in 2024 – which he then shared with the rest of the team either as presents or as prizes for in-person team events.
From a flamingo (named Ted) to a box of donuts, Santa hats, a pickle, and several other projects, it seemed like there was nothing Josh couldn’t create with some yarn and a vision. We were happy to have such quirky creations that remote and in-office employees alike could bond over.
Cheers to 2025!
As we close out the year, we remain grateful for the opportunities we’ve had to collaborate with our clients and partners while creating memories with each other. Thanks to our networks and community, we’re feeling more energized than ever to make an impact in 2025.
