What’s the best part about of your job?
Doing something different every day – getting to work with different businesses of different sizes and finding creative ways to grow them.
Best part of NOLA?
The best part of New Orleans is just the pure love of life and acceptance of everyone here. Everyone comes out and celebrates together – whether for Mardi Gras, a second line, funeral, or just a week night – there’s always so many different people coming together to enjoy life and be a part of something bigger than themselves.
Best part of Binghamton?
I’ve always loved Binghamton though, I think I was one of the few BU students who officially earned their townie card. The best part is that you can do anything there – being able unique and to be a big fish in a small pond provides the opportunity to do whatever your thing is.
Favorite social platform?
But really – Instagram. So simple, intuitive, visual. @olsenventures
One piece of advice for clients?
The goal of any leader or business owner should be to surround themselves with people who know more than they do. In our case, we’re hired because we’re experts, but when clients create arbitrary constraints, they aren’t getting the best work or the best value.
How do you like your steak?
The correct way: medium rare.

Who’s your marketing crush?
Chris Sacca – been following him forever, he’s the single best interviewee I’ve ever heard. Also the first investor in Uber, Twitter, Instagram. Helped shape those and so many other products and brands.
Christian Watson @1924us – master of hand lettering and hand drawn logos and one of the best photographers out there. Most of all, the absolute king of curating – everything in his posting is consistently perfect.
What’s one thing about your job that would surprise people?
The “right way” is rarely the right way. There is an endless stream of input on SEO, social, and other marketing tactics – but what is technically correct when studied on a large scale rarely works best for your business. Common sense often trumps data.
As David Ogilvy said: “I don’t know the rules of grammar… If you’re trying to persuade people to do something, or buy something, it seems to me you should use their language, the language they use every day, the language in which they think. We try to write in the vernacular.”
